Principal's Corner

Welcome

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Andrews High School for the 2016 – 2017 school year! We are excited about our successes and anticipate that this year will be even better than the previous years. We are ecstatic about having your child with us.

Andrews High School has a competent, caring staff, and they are prepared to assess each student’s learning style and abilities and to coordinate activities that will enhance every student’s academic growth. Through well-planned, collaborative sessions of school-wide, departmental, and district professional development initiatives, teachers share and implement research-based strategies that promise to motivate and educate students in reaching their fullest potential. We encourage you to inform our teachers of any needs or concerns your child may have so that we may provide each student an opportunity to have a productive and rewarding experience.

Please take an active role and interest in your child’s education by accessing the Parent Portal and attending Open House, report card pick up, and scheduled parent conferences. In addition, we ask that you provide students a special place at home to concentrate on learning and developmental goals.

Finally, we encourage you to take full advantage of our open door policy. You’re invited to visit at any time. In addition, you’re invited to join and support the school’s Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), School Improvement Council (SIC), Booster Club, and other extracurricular activities. At AHS, we believe “One person can make a difference.” We are ready for the challenge to make great things happen.

 School’s Mission Statement:

To prepare our diverse student population with the skills necessary to succeed in a complex society by encouraging family involvement, using creative instructional practices, and providing experiences that increase the students’ opportunities for success.

Educationally yours,

Michelle Greene, Ed. D.
