2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
The 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards wants to hear from students who have made a difference through community service. If you are a high school student who has raised money for an important cause, or coordinated a neighborhood clean-up, you may apply. Those are just some examples. Every high school may select a local honoree. These honorees are then eligible for statewide recognition, a $1,000 award, a silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC. The ten National Honorees will receive an additional $5,000 award, a gold medallion, a crystal trophy, and $5,000 in grants to be given to the charity of their choice. After submitting the electronic application, students must also send the application to Leigh Owens (Lowens@gcsd.k12.sc.us) and print a hard copy to be turned in to guidance. Only one application can be submitted by each school. The school will select the top applicant. For more information and to apply, please visit their website at: http://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit. Deadline to submit application is November 7, 2017.
